What Cindy Leive Wore

Again no link, but search for “What I Wore” for the NYTimes of April 24. Glamour’s editor in chief described a week’s worth of high styles – and a few downscale garments. I was intrigued to see how much Cindi Leive’s wardrobe cost.

Thursday daytime

Akris shirtdress, $2,900 from Neiman Marcus; Wolford tights, $240; Reed Krakoff tote, $890; Prada leather jacket (old) $580 on sale for $138;  Alaïa shoes $1,015 on sale for $456.75 at The Outnet. Day total at full price $5045, sale price: $3735

Thursday evening

Brunello Cucinelli leggings (guessing) $500; J. Crew tank, a very reasonable $18 (now on sale for $10 to $14); Alexander Wang vest – I’m guessing at this one, but choosing it ’cause I like it and it’s at La Garçonne $545 on sale for $273; Pierre Hardy boots – couldn‘t find anything appropriate but prices run $300 – $500, so we’ll say $400; floor-length Juicy Couture “schmatte” again guess as there’s nothing full length, but say $85 based on the Jacquard Heart Terry Pant. Evening total: $1548; sale: $1268

Thursday total: $ 6593; sale $5003.

Friday early a.m.

Nike running shorts, $45; T-shirt from Stan’s Sports Bar $25; Hoodie – North Face is in style, so we’ll go for $120; New Balance “sneaks” actually running shoes $51 to $145 so the average would be $98. Early a.m. total: $288 (more my style)

Friday day

Giambattista Valli dress (taking the average) $2403; Alaïa pumps, so we won’t count them again; M.C.L. ring (average $410); knee-length leather coats are not around much, so I’ve averaged long and jackets and came up with $250. Regular daytime total: $3063.

Friday evening

MiH jeans, average $287, with the dollar worth $0.61 in pounds; Maison Martin Margiela sweater. Don’t know for sure, but I’m voting for this one at $745. Total $1032

Total for the day: $4383

The rest of the week consisted of vacation and so doesn’t represent her usual attire. I’ll continue with the pricing another day. Suffice it to say that any one of the woman’s outfits (except for the running gear) is worth more than my entire wardrobe.
